PM Modi in Jodhpur LIVE: 'Rajasthan tourism gaining momentum today only because BJP promoted it well'
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hit the campaign trail in the poll-bound Rajasthan on Monday. After his rally in Jodhpur, he will head to Hanumangarh, Sikar and Jaipur where is likely to address rallies.

HERE ARE THE LIVE UPDATES:

03:50 pm: "Vasundhara Raje has approved 7000 Megawatts of solar energy in Rajasthan": PM Modi in Jodhpur.

03:49 pm: Cleanliness should have been dealt with in the last 70 years. But the Congress didn't care. So I took it upon me to start the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, which not only cleaned the country, but also generated employment. When I came to power, I didn't promise constructing hotels, instead I promised constructing toilets. In Rajasthan alone, 80 lakh toilets were made so that women don't have to defecate in the open: PM Modi in Jodhpur.
03:40 pm: "The foundation of tourism is cleanliness. Mahatma Gandhi was the champion of cleanliness. The Congress has been in power since 4 decades, how have they never spoken of cleanliness before?": PM Modi in Jodhpur
03:39 pm: "Tourism is a field which has given us trillions and trillions worth of dollars. It gives occupation to a vast spectra of people -- from roadside hawkers to travel companies. Rajasthan is one of the most attractive tourist spots in India. Last year, 1 crore tourists came to India, yet the Congress goes to foreign nations and talks ill about India." : PM Modi in Jodhpur
03:38 pm: "Rajasthan tourism is gaining momentum today only because of erstwhile BJP chief minister Bhairon Singh Shekhawat. Be it Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Jodhpur or the palaces of Rajasthan, which have been there since the time of the UPA, now find their names on the map of the world only because the BJP promoted it well.": PM Modi in Jodhpur
03:33 pm: "When the people didn't know about climate change ages back, it was the Bishnoi community in Jodhpur that laid their lives for the protection of the environment. It is because of then that India today has won the accolade of "Champion of the Earth" : PM Modi in Jodhpur.
03:29 pm: "At the time when Sardar Patel was restoring the Somnath Temple in Gujarat, it was Congress-led Prime Minister [Jawaharlal Nehru] who advised him against it even when President Rajendra Prasad had approved it. And, then they have the audacity to claim that they know Hindutva?" : PM Modi in Jodhpur
03:24 pm: "Hinduism and Hindutva are ancient ideologies that are so rich with knowledge and culture that I can never know the entire thing. Many learned men and intellectuals also don't claim that they know the entire thing. However, Congress seems to know what the greatest intellectuals don't": PM Modi in Jodhpur
03:23 pm: "Recently, the Congress President said that Modi has no knowledge of Hinduism. But will you give me a vote for knowledge of Hinduism or for developing your state?": PM Modi, while addressing a rally in Jodhpur.
03:19 pm: If the Congress believes that they will win this election on the basis of lies, they are highly mistaken. They were thrown out from other states, they will face the same fate here also. They do not believe in the politics of development and progress. They believe in the politics of caste: PM Modi in Jodhpur
03:13 pm: PM Modi accuses the Congress of mudslinging and says that the more the Grand Old Party slings, the brighter will the lotus bloom. He said that it seems that the Congress has started a university for spreading lies.
Meanwhile, Congress President Rahul Gandhi will tour the state on Tuesday. He will address public meetings in Malakhera, Surajgarh and Salumber, a Congress spokesperson said.
Polls to the 200-seat assembly are due in the state on December 7. Counting of votes will be done on December 11.
