Deepika Padukone made her Bollywood debut with Om Shanti Om in 2007. Little did anyone know at the time, that she would become one of the most sought-after actresses in the film industry within just a couple of years. After facing several ups and downs, Deepika has delivered blockbusters like Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani.
The actress has more than 30 million followers on her social media accounts and is also on the Forbes list of richest Indian celebrities. On her recent Facebook Live, Deepika revealed, "I was shocked to receive the email. I thought it was a prank. I had to ask my team to confirm the news."
2018 was a magical year for Deepika, as her film Padmaavat not only crossed Rs 300 crore, she also tied the knot with boyfriend Ranveer Singh, after six years of dating. Deepika will next be seen in Chhapak, which is based on the story of acid-attack survivor Laxmi Aggarwal. Deepika will be producing the film as well.
At a recent conference, Deepika looked back at 2018 and shared the learnings she will take forward from the previous year. She said, "Considering how the year panned out for me, with the release of Padmaavat and the whole controversy, I would say uncertainty has been a big learning for me. The second big learning has been to remain authentic. I think that everyone, who has remained authentic in their career choices, did well. So I think it is important to remain authentic."
