There are reports that Salman Khan has ousted Atif Aslam from his upcoming production, Notebook.
On Thursday, 40 CRPF jawans lost their lives in the deadliest attack on security forces in Pulwama. A suicide bomber belonging to the Pakistan-sponsored terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad rammed an explosive-laden SUV into a bus in the 78-vehicle security convoy. It is the worst attack in Jammu and Kashmir, in over a decade.
The attack has shaken up the nation and has been strongly condemned by all.
Bollywood celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan and Priyanka Chopra haveexpressed their grief at the attacks. Some celebs also donated for the families of the jawans.
Salman Khan had tweeted saying, "My heart goes out for the Jawans of our beloved country and their families who lost their lives as martyrs to save our families... #YouStandForIndia."
The anger has infiltrated the cinematic realm. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) and AICWA (All Indian Cine Workers) have stepped in to ban Pakistani artistes in India. The AICWA letter reads as, "We're officially announcing a total ban on Pakistani actors and artists working in film industry. Still, if any organization insist on working with Pakistani artists will be banned by AICWA and strong action will be taken against them."
According to recent reports, Salman has asked singer Atif Aslam to get replaced in his upcoming production, Notebook. There has been no official announcement as yet. Notebook marks the debut of Zaheer Iqbal and Pranutan Bahl. It is expected to hit the screens on March 29.
On Sunday, filmmaker Ashoke Pandit announced that no Pakistani artiste would be allowed to work in India. "No Bollywood filmmaker will take any Pakistani artiste in his film. Even music companies will stop working with Pakistani singers," Pandit told India Today Television on Sunday.
"If any filmmaker or music company does not listen to the FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees), we will stop the shooting of any film with Pakistani artistes and vandalise its sets," he warned.
