In a development which can have far-reaching political implications, senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel has landed into a controversy after a picture of him with an AICC worker, whose residence was being raided by the Income-Tax department, emerged on Monday.
The AICC worker has been identified as SM Moin, who according to the I-T department received Rs 20 crore on Saturday (April 6) through hawala and transported the amount to the Congress's office.

According to the I-T department, Delhi Directorate of Income Tax (Investigation) initiated a search based upon credible information of a large scale collection, possession and movement of unaccounted assets.
More than 300 Income Tax officials participated in the raids at 52 locations in four states.
Searches in Madhya Pradesh have allegedly exposed a widespread and well-organised racket of the collection of unaccounted cash of around Rs 281 crore through various persons.
"A part of the cash was also transferred to the headquarters of a major political party in Delhi. Rs 20 crore was moved through hawala to the headquarters of the political party from the residence of a senior functionary at Tughlak Road, New Delhi," an Income Tax official said.
Sources close to Ahmed Patel have told India Today TV that SM Moin works as a chief accountant at the Congress office and the senior Congress leader went to see him at his residence when he did not come to the office.
According to the probe agency, records of collection and disbursement of cash in handwritten diaries, computer files and excel sheets were found and seized to corroborate the above findings.
During the raids, unaccounted cash of Rs 14.6 crore has been recovered so far. Besides, 252 bottles of liquor, few arms and skin of tigers.
The department conducted raids against close aides of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath and others on Sunday that continued on Monday, with search teams making seizures of documents and cash, officials said.
"Several unaccounted/Benami properties at posh locations in Delhi have also been detected. Instances of violations of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) are being brought to the notice of the Election Commission," the I-T said.
