  • Rane said the tape was "doctored" and alleged that the Congress was targetting him since he have left the party and joined the BJP
Taking a small break from his three-day vacation in Goa, Congress president Rahul Gandhi has once again raked up the Rafale debate with a tweet.
On Monday, Rahul tweeted: "It's been 30 days since the Goa audio tapes on Rafale were released. No FIR or enquiry ordered. No action against the Minister either."
The Congress president was referring to an audio tape that was released by the Congress earlier this month during the debate on Rafale deal in the Lok Sabha.
The Congress had claimed that the audio clip in its possession is of a conversation between Goa minister Vishwajit Rane and another person. In the clip, according to the Congress, Rane can purportedly be heard saying that Parrikar, during a Goa cabinet meeting, had said that all documents related to the Rafale deal were lying in his bedroom.

The audio clip was played by the Congress for the media outside Parliament. Rane, however, said the tape was "doctored" and alleged that the Congress was targetting him since he have left the party and joined the BJP.
On Monday, Rahul Gandhi, in his tweet, insisted that the tape was authentic and the "explosive Rafale secrets" are in the possession of Goa CM Parrikar.
"It's obvious that the tapes are authentic and that Goa CM Parrikar is in possession of explosive Rafale secrets, that give him power over the PM," read his tweet.
The Congress President and his mother and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi are holidaying in Goa on a three-day private visit, according to news agency IANS.
